I came across Roland on the Checkatrade app to get a quote for a job. The quote was a little out of budget so I indicated that unfortunately I won't be able to go ahead, which in return I got an abrupt and obvious comment saying "There is an English saying buy cheap, buy twice. Good luck", which I found extremely unprofessional – I haven't had a response from any trades person like this before. The customer service skills and attitude needs to be improved.The quote I received elsewhere was marginally better and had more quantity of reviews. Next time, it may be better just saying "No worries, good luck" instead of leaving a bitter reply. Please use this constructive feedback for any future potential interactions because it isn't a good image for your brand.

Roland completed two jobs for me. We needed a large cupboard door put on with new holes for the hinges and the bracket for the loft ladder to be fixed. Both completed with no issues. Communication very good, very polite and professional. Would recommend and hire again.

These are the results of having Lino laid over my tiles in March. The Lino started to come away from the floor the next day. I had to buy more Lino then I had to get another company to relay it. The last picture is how it should be done. No apology, no attempt to put it right. Be very wary of these people. This had been taken down, so I am re- posting.
I was impressed with the service, Roland helped repair a crack in a handcrafted wooden side-table and drilled a hole to hang a wall-clock. Will be calling him if I need a job done, would definitely recommend.
I asked Roland's Handyman services to fit a roller blind in my bathroom. He arrived punctually and fitted the blind quickly and efficiently with the minimum of mess. The blind looks really good and works smoothly. Roland made sure it worked properly before he left. I would recommend this company .

I needed a side gate to be hung as this came slightly bigger than expected.Roland built a very nice frame, trimmed the door down to fit. I also had to resolve an issue with the shower pulley which had popped out of the tracks. A dimmer switched need changing to a standard switch. Whilst I was at it, I decided I would get him to drill 4 holes for the Ring doorbell, and why not. Very pleased with Roland's workmanship, friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

I honestly do not know if these good reviews on here are genuine or if these customers got lucky with Roland doing a good job on their particular assignment. However i hired him to install my interior doors and he had butchered away at the frame for the hinges leaving a disguisting looking finish. I will have to use filler and paint to cover it up. He also cut the doors too much as i wanted 2mm max gaps which i clearly told him. He did not want to listen and did what he wanted and I've have been left with 3mm + gaps. I gave him the full money because i dont want issues and drama arguing with someone but honestly I am so annoyed with his worksmanship. I paid almost close to a grand which is a huge loss as im pretty certain theres carpenters out there that take pride in getting things done perfectly and listening to the customer. My bathroom door also does not close which i have fixed myself and he installed all of my door handles with fat screws rather than the slim clamp that was provided in the kit. I've had to install the clamps myself as the screws came loose and fix the bathroom door. I would say use Roland if you have a small job because he might not rush. I had around 7 doors and without a doubt he rushed and took shortcuts as he clearly wanted it finished and move onto the next job. Guess ive learnt my lesson and will do these things myself in the future. So what if it takes me a week or a month. At least it will get done right.

Honestly. Such a shame I that I’ve had to come and write a review like this. This is after Roland ignored my messages. I hired him quite easily via text with a list of odd jobs and tasks that needed doing in our house, he quoted me a price which I thought was quite expensive, but nonetheless I honoured the quote.He arrived a couple of hours after he said he would but all good as I was busy. I showed him the first couple of jobs as per the list I sent him and carried on with what I was doing. Once he finished the last task I went to grab cash for him, and he said he finished. I checked all the jobs and completely forgot about one the bigger things he had quoted me for.I paid him in full and he left.7 mins later I called to tell him that the final job wasn’t done and he said he couldn’t return that day and if he did he would charge me £95 (discounted to £50) just to come back.. Even though I had already paid him and he had JUST left. He has since ignored my calls and messages.And the silicone he done for me is peeling off already anyway. It’s annoying, this feels petty - but find someone who doesn’t take liberties.
